NPT CCO, Jonathan Wood to speak on Project Speedbird at SAF Investor London event

Jonathan Wood, Chief Commercial Officer at Nova Pangaea Technologies, will be speaking at next week’s SAF Investor event on 28th and 29th May 2025 in London. Jonathan will be on the panel ‘Developing a project: Close up on Project Speedbird’ with International Airlines Group and LanzaJet.

Project Speedbird is a partnership between Nova Pangaea Technologies, British Airways and LanzaJet to deliver a commercial UK based supply chain that will produce 102 million litres of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) per year. This reduces CO2 emissions by just under 500,000 tonnes per annum on a net lifecycle basis. British Airways intends to offtake the SAF to help power some of its flights. Project Speedbird secured Government funding through the Advanced Fuels Fund round 2 of £9 million.

Nova Pangaea Technologies’ REFNOVA® technology converts non-food derived agricultural waste and woody residue into 2G ethanol and biochar. The 2G ethanol is further processed through LanzaJet’s alcohol-to-jet facility to produce SAF. The biochar delivers an immediate decarbonisation impact through sequestration enabling a negative CO2 emissions profile.
