Jonathan Wood Honoured at SAF Global Summit 2025 for Leadership in SAF Innovation

London, UK – September 2, 2025 – Jonathan Wood, Chief Commercial Officer at Nova Pangaea Technologies, was recognised with a prestigious award at the SAF Global Summit 2025 held at the QEII Centre in London. The award celebrates his exceptional contribution to the advancement of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and his leadership in the transformative Project Speedbird initiative.
Jonathan joined Nova Pangaea Technologies in 2024, bringing with him extensive C-suite experience in renewable fuels and energy. Prior to this, he served as Vice President of Neste, where he led the commercial and business development efforts that helped establish Neste’s SAF division as a global leader. He also held senior commercial leadership roles at BP, where he was responsible for growing the aviation and road transport fuels businesses.
‘Thank you for this unexpected recognition – it is much appreciated when it comes from colleagues in the SAF industry. We know that we are all in this together, it takes hard graft, resilience, but we are building momentum.’
At Nova Pangaea, Jonathan has been instrumental in the commercial delivery of the company’s proprietary REFNOVA® technology, which converts agricultural waste into 2G ethanol and biochar. This ethanol is further refined via the alcohol-to jet process to produce SAF, enabling a scalable and sustainable solution for aviation decarbonisation.
Project Speedbird is set to produce 102 million litres of SAF annually, delivering a net lifecycle reduction of nearly 500,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions. The project has also secured £9 million in UK government funding through the Advanced Fuels Fund.
The SAF Global Summit, attended by over 500 global stakeholders, is the premier event for advancing SAF and achieving net-zero aviation goals.
