Gary Bowdler, NPT Finance Director, on panel discussion at Tees Business Beyond the Boom

Nova Pangaea Technologies (NPT) was present at the Tees Business Beyond the Boom on the 13th of May in Middlesbrough. Gary Bowdler, NPT Finance Director, was present and on a panel discussing strategic investment into the region for various business sectors and sites as well as spotlighting the need and benefits of Teesside being an attractive hub to invest in. Alongside Gary on the panel were SeAH Wind, Education Training Collective, Tees Valley Lithium, and event sponsor Womble Bond Dickinson, and international law firm.
Gary gave his perspective through his in-house financial expertise of a scale-up business offering a decarbonisation solution to aviation and one that is part of the green energy transition towards a sustainable future. Gary highlighted NPT’s headquarters and demonstration facility at Wilton International, Redcar, and discussed the company’s investment journey. He emphasised the importance of collaboration and NPT’s local, regional and national partners, including the UK Government’s support of NPT through the Advanced Fuels Fund (AFF) for Project Speedbird (a commercial sustainable aviation fuel facility).
He also noted NPT’s patented REFNOVA technology, which converts biomass wastes such as woody and non-food derived agricultural residues into high value products, 2G ethanol and biochar. The company’s technology is an integral part of the SAF value chain, and its 2G ethanol enables a pathway to SAF production. The technology is unique as its co-product, biochar, has a significant carbon impact and can deliver an immediate decarbonisation impact through sequestration and enable a negative CO2 emissions profile.
Gary said: “Teesside has much talent and opportunity, working cohesively together will drive shared success. Investment support in NPT’s sector as well as other industries will progress the leadership of the region and contribute to the community as a whole.”
